Mad Quickies

Mad Quickies: Censored Picasso, Robin Williams Nesting Dolls, Realistic Animal Lollipops and More!

Hey gang, I’m here on this lovely Friday to bring you the Quickies that you need. Big thanks to Donna for covering for me on Wednesday. She’s the very best and we all know it!

While reporting on a Picasso painting that set a sales record at auction earlier this week, my local Fox News affiliate here in NYC chose to blur the breasts of the figures in the painting. However, they left the butt on the lower right unblurred. I don’t know what else to say about this.

In related news, here’s a list of other things you could buy with the $180,000,000 that was paid for the above-mentioned Picasso painting.

Keeping tabs on the health of coral reefs via 3D modeling.

Listen – I need you to go to Japan and get me a variety of these realistic animal lollipops. From the article: “…traditional Japanese amezaiku, [is] a form of artisinal candy making that dates back to the 8th century when the edible objects were offered at temples or given as gifts. The lollipops and other confectionary beasts are made by the shop’s owner, 26-year-old Shinri Tezuka”.

Robin Williams nesting dolls!!!

I love these kinds of videos – Dad uses visual effects to bring his kid’s imagination to life.

Talk about a juxtaposition of materials, tech and representation – A Lego-inspired, modular wooden block system that lets you create electronic devices.
