Mad Group Art Project!
Today in my RSS feed, I noticed that one of my favorite non-skeptic sites, CottonBabies a cloth diapering store and blog, is asking their readers to participate in a photo project for the month of May. I thought it was a cool idea, so I asked the other MALabbers, and they thought it was a cool idea. So we’re stealing it. Because that’s what you do with great ideas. You steal them. And turn them into art.
The project is to take a picture based on a single-word topic every day. We will give you the word, then you post your photo, and it’s all beautiful! You can check in every morning, and I’ll have the word of the day posted. You can tweet us your photos using #MadPicLab, tag them in Flickr, post them to our FB page (edit: link fixed) (you “liked” us already, right?). I will be submitting photography that’s not really what most professionals, or sighted people, would describe as “good” so don’t be afraid to submit even if you’re just an amateur using your phone. The only rules are that the photo has to be yours, as in you took the picture, and that they’re relevant to the word.
To get things started, today’s word is “Spectrum”. I know it’s late in the day, but I bet you talented mofos can get some great photos in today. (EDIT: My submission for today, after the jump)
And here’s the entire list, with corresponding dates, so you can plan ahead. I’m really looking forward to your submissions!

My “Spectrum”:
This is such a fun idea. Everyone should participate!
I just posted my Spectrum on Twitter. #MadPicLab
Great photo!
Also, I am SO glad Johnny’s car is an Element. 😉
When I click on the facebook link I get an error. 🙁
Love this idea! I’m on it.
The hashtag is getting going!
Yay!

😀
Amy, I hope Johnny’s Element isn’t brown like ours 😀 Cause darn it, that was the first thing I thought of!
Damn, Amy, I was going to use that joke!
Do submissions have to be photographic? Or can they be drawn?
Wundergeek:
Rule 1: It’s a photograph
Rule 2: Everyone is given license to interpret or break rules as necessary to create art.
