21812 – Welcome to Geo’s Orbit
One of the coolest and honestly, one of the nicest guys in all of organized skepticism is having a concert on 21812 and you had better be there!
I have spent the last week making some Surly-Ramics in honor of the fact that our pal, George Hrab is having a show that he is going to record for a LIVE CD and DVD and YOU can be a part of it. Yeah, you!
For those of you who do not know George Hrab, he is a musician extraordinaire who loves to sing about science and skepticism. He is also the host of the widely popular podcast known as The Geologic Podcast. He is an author and and all around swell guy. Because he is such a groovy thing, he attracts other groovy things into his orbit and rumor has it that there will be a whole posse of Mad Art Labbers in attendance!
I know I will be there and so will Donna and I heard through the grapevine that Brian and Maki will be there too.
I also know that fact has it that one of our favorite astronomer-skeptics the fantastic and sometimes snuggly Phil Plait a.k.a. The Bad Astronomer will be at the event for a live recording of the song, Death From The Skies from the album Trebuchet.
And did I mention that Maki designed this sweet poster for the event? True.
I will have a table set up at the event selling my Surlies and the first 10 people who come up to me and say, “WELCOME TO GEO’S ORBIT” will get a FREE limited edition 21812 Surly-Ramics necklace made by me to commemorate the event.
Woohoo!

Thank you so much for the fabulous post and groovy offer! The 21812s are absolutely wonderful … but NOW I have to choose which one I want.
So cool! Both Amy’s and Maki’s creations are awesome!
We’re using Maki’s genius illustration on a limited edition poster that he and Geo and the band will sign. It’s the “Carboniferous” ticket package: http://21812.eventbrite.com/
May I suggest avoiding too close an approach? You might become.tidally locked and be unable to look away ever again!
Mind you, if I did’t live on the other side of the world I’d load up on reaction mass and take the chance.
