This podcast features special guest artist, with a background in the applied sciences, Ryan Consell. Ryan is also a master cosplayer, burgeoning metalsmith an oddly enough, our Canadian version of David Tennant. We talk to Ryan about the time he nearly destroyed the internet with his gender bending Slave “Leo” costume.

Ryan also discusses a new semi-regular feature he is going to do for Mad Art Cast, where he will interview various artists about the terrible art they made when they first started out and how the ugly things you make are necessary on your path to discovery, innovation and at times, perfection. We hope these mini segments will be encouraging and eye opening for new artists as well as artists seeking direction when one has lost confidence in their work.

We also talk about how one person’s ugly thing is another person’s beauty. And who gets to decide what is beautiful anyway? Listen in to find out!
