AI: Still a Feyn Day

Lots of really fun paper dolls and science art articles have been coming out of this blog recently, and while we’re still revved up about our new Steampunk Ada Lovelace papercraft, I want to ask:

Who’s next? Who would you like to see an artistic representation of? Whether it’s a graphic novel, paper doll, or just a sweet street stencil. Who would you pick, and why?

The ART Inquisition (or AI) is a question posed to you, the Mad Art Lab community. Look for it to appear Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 3pm ET.

  1. The people at Mad art Lab should turn themselves into a paper doll with some accessories of what makes you …You!

You could also make some of prominent skeptics… A James Randi, Pz myres, a bad astronomer, maybe a dr novella.

  2. You’ve done Ada Lovelace, so why not Charles Babbage? Along with some gears and many pages of diagrams, he should come with a bill to post forbidding street musicians.

I saw Neil Degrasse Tyson — Brian Cox would be another good choice.

There needs to be a theme or some other focus; the pantheon of scientists is just too large otherwise.

  3. The hidden theme is ‘who I love’. Behind the scenes we’ve all been “Ooo! Ooo! I wanna do XXX!” hehe

I work in computing in a physics department, so for me Einstein, Lovelace and the one I’m about to post (Grace Hopper) were ones i really wanted to do. I’m guessing we’ll start to be more analytical (puns!) about who to include soon as we deplete our personal hero strash. 🙂

  4. I had guessed it was the intersection of “who I love” with “who has easily recognizable paraphernalia”. A paper doll of Alan Guth, for example, might be tricky to make recognizable.

  5. I tried to make a paper doll of myself but I quickly ran out of room. Self deprecating dig? Or egomaniacal braggadocio?

  6. @breadbox Yeah, he’s a tricky one. Maybe a tweed coat and map of the entire universe?

@maggie That reminds me of this awesome Japanese mini-series that featured historic scientific figures cloned as supervillains. Including a giant-grasshopper-riding Jean Henri Fabre
