Mad Art Cast: Finding Hidden Faces In Paintings
Welcome to another episode of Mad Art Cast! Today we discuss a new technology being used to look inside and under paintings of the past and in particular Dagas’ Portrait of a Woman. Then we discuss if this is the right thing to do. Was it the artist’s decision to paint over one painting not being respected when scientists did their high tech scan or is this opening up a much bigger and more interesting look at Degas and his techniques? We disagree on the show. Tell us what you think in the comments!

“I was always shocked when I went to the doctor’s office and they did my X-ray and didn’t find that I had eight more ribs than I should have or that my blood was the color green.” – Nicolas Cage
