The fabulous Jennifer Ouellette just tweeted about an interested project that combines art, science, sense of self and you guessed it, brains. 
The Brain Gallery Project is part of the Brain Observatory at UC San Diego and is interested in “how people picture their mind.”
The Brain Gallery Project has done this by creating an interactive project that incorporates a drawing tool that allows children and adults alike to sketch what they 
think their brain looks like. While some of the brains don’t end up looking like what we know brains to be, it is a very interesting and introspective look at how we view what’s going on inside that skull of ours.

This project wasn’t conceived as a scientific ‘experiment,’ rather it is meant to be a tool to investigate the relationship between brain and mind through introspection and art. Nevertheless, it may be interesting in the future to analyze the features contained in the drawings and to study how patterns and trends relate to basic demographic information.
This project is pretty great! And what’s even more interesting about it is you can watch the brains being drawn in real time. Just click on any of the images in the Brain Gallery to see for yourself.
