I wanted some “Edvard Munch” snack crackers because… well, just because. I figured they should be something like Goldfish but shaped like the face in “The Scream“. I found a DIY Goldfish recipe and got to work…
OK, first thing, I needed a cutter. This one’s made from a piece of soda can, bent into roughly the right shape.
Rolled out the dough and started cutting. Each shape is about 30mm (1.25″) long.
Put in some dents for eyes, nose and mouth. Not exactly an accurate depiction but you can only do so much, poking holes into cracker dough.
Here they are after baking. They didn’t deform much during baking, like cookies do. I’m guessing the lack of leavening agent makes the difference.
And of course I needed a bag for them. (The text is just some Riker ipsum to fill in space.) I suppose if you wanted to do this “for real”, you could print ingredients on one side and some sort of descriptive text on the other.
Also, for long-term storage, you’d probably want a waxed paper liner.
They taste pretty good. Could do with a bit more cheese, though.
Nice! And with a sweeter recipe for dough, you might consider an angsty cereal that’s part of this complete breakfast.
Angsty Charms – They’re tragically delicious! 😀
Edvard Munchies–perfect.
You rock my world, Steve. What’s next?
Starry Nightcicles?
Some Magritte-like un-pipes?
Delicious urinal cakes to be served in Duchamp’s Fountain?
Hmm, maybe we could talk one of our gastronomers into making Magritte candy apples with caramel bowlers.
