The Great Escape and Away We Go

Art is the great escape and I need an escape. I’ve had enough of Trump and his budget cuts to science, the elderly, the arts, the humanities, kid’s school lunches, the environment, meals on wheels, the list goes on. Basically, he is cutting everything that isn’t the military so he can live like a king while bombing mosques, building walls, and laughing from a golden tower, or from a golf course while poor people die. He is the worst.

I drew this illustration while fantasizing that I could escape this world and explore cool new planets in my neon painted rocket ship. This illustration is called, “The Great Escape” and for a while, I’m gonna keep pretending that we can.

This is version two of, “The Great Escape.” I call this, “Away We Go.” Illustrated in the same style as my last piece, this one carries on with the theme of escaping this world to far away lands. There has been rocket launches, a bomb dropped and a lot of threatening and general projection coming from the United States towards other countries including our closest allies, and in some cases, towards our own people. I have high hopes that we will dig our country and our people out of this embarrassing and horrible mess before we too have to dig ourselves out of the rubble- like they are doing in Aleppo. I have high hopes that evidence will come forward soon that will out Trump from office- but ya can’t hang your hat on a hope rack, so I am continuing on into a world of sci-fi as an escape.

Here is “Away We Go.”

Hope you enjoy the art. Stay strong.
