You Think YOUR Personal Trainer is Terrifying…

Having trouble talking yourself into running a 5K? Maybe some strategically-placed zombies will be able to convince you to make it to the finish line!

Run For Your Lives is a national 5K obstacle course race with a twist: you’re not just trying to surmount the natural and man-made obstacles and beat the other runners to the finish–you’re also trying to outrun blood-thirsty zombies. Runners wear flags which can be stolen by volunteer zombies over the course of the race.

As terrified as I am of zombies, I think I’m more terrified of trying to run a 5K. However, instead of running the course you can sign up to be one of the zombies! You can choose  to be a chaser or a stumbler, and you get a full-on zombie make-up transformation. The zombies’ directions are simple: try to steal flags and terrify the runners into moving faster! If Run For Your Lives were taking place in my city, I’d totally be in.

Run For Your Lives is occurring in several different cities across the US in 2012. Check it out, and let us know if you participate! We need someone to scientifically determine whether zombie-induced exercise is better for you than regular exercise!

  1. You know, being a bicyclic sorta person I often say that the only valid reason to run is when there’s a large predator chasing you. Glad to see that I’m not the only one who thinks this way. 🙂
