Twinkie – The Opera

Hostess, the makers of the iconic Twinkie, has recently filed for bankruptcy protection. The tasty treats are feared to soon be extinct (despite the myth that they have some sort of infinite shelf-life).

But daytime talk-show host, Wendy Williams, has taken on the mantle of saving the Twinkie from certain doom. To that end, she invited Friend of Mad Art Lab, mezzo-soprano Hai-Ting Chinn, to sing Stefan Weisman’s song, Twinkie.

Watch, listen, and revel in all the glory that are… Twinkies.

Video after the jump.

  1. There are two people on this planet (that in my opinion) you can hand your shopping list to, ask them to sing it, and it will sound like the coolest thing EVER.

The first person is Tom Waits and the second person is Hai-Ting.

Thank you for making the seemingly mundane, absolutely marvelous! Hai-Ting you rule!
