Quiet Company is Releasing a New Album

Quiet Company, an Austin band most famous for their 2011 album We Are All Where We Belong — which has been described as lead singer Taylor Muse’s breakup letter to God — makes frequent appearances here on the Lab. We’ve featured a tune of theirs in a lab track, I did an extended interview with them, and we’ve repped their nationwide tour.

Now, I’m excited to announce that they have a new album coming out. It’s called Transgressor, and it’s set to be released on February 24th. According to Texas Monthly, it’ll still feature plenty of religious imagery (“I’ve always been a fan of using religious imagery, even when I’m not making a religious point,” Taylor Muse told me back in 2012), but chances are that it won’t be quite so centered on atheism. And I, for one, am perfectly fine with that. I came for the atheism, but I stayed because they’re a killer band.

“Seven Hells” is the single track they’ve released as a sneak peek into the upcoming album. Give it a listen, and if you haven’t had the pleasure, check out their 2011 release, too. Then wait gleefully with me for February!
