Mad Quickies: Lost LEGOs Wash Ashore for 18 Years, More Furiosa, Art Crimes and Much More!

I just want to let you know, that there are no links to Banksy’s Dismaland in this edition of the Quickies. I don’t know how you feel about that, but here we are. Let’s do this.

Here’s your weekly art crimes blotter, which has pretty much become my favorite thing. ART CRIMES.

Here’s the thing – Melissa McCarthy, she of Ghostbusters reboot fame (and other stuff, I know), is a clothing designer. But she doesn’t just slap her name on a bunch of junk that someone else put together, she’s designed every. single. piece. -Via Anne

Sometimes, one can be too skeptical. This is where Skeptiholics Anonymous comes in. -Via Jim

Did you know that 18 years ago a cargo ship carrying, among other things, 4.8 million LEGO pieces was hit by some rough seas and a bunch of containers were washed off and LEGOs have been washing ashore in Cornwall in England for all that time and lots of those 4.8 million LEGO piece were nautical themed? You didn’t know that. I know you didn’t.

Whoa now. These space and space-related paintings by Michael Kagen are the shit. THE SHIT.

I loved Mad Max: Fury Road. I saw it in 3D and I haven’t seen a 3D movie since I was 6 years old. So here’s a whole outline by George Miller, the writer and director of all the Mad Max films about some more of the backstory of Furiosa. Pure love.
