Blue from Hello, The Future talks about The Sound Of Music, multiverses and things beyond our ken …or kin …or possibly Ken.

  1. OH WOW WOW WOW that title image is AMAZING. Thank you for making it! 🙂

  2. That was a fantastic way to explain the relativity of personal understanding. Thanks. Of course, it works both ways. I’ve a decent layperson’s understanding of the multiverse hypothesis but have never seen The Sound of Music. I’m pretty sure that the fragment of the song Sixteen Going On Seventeen that you sang has made my perception of that movie even less accurate. 🙂

  3. @coelecanth for serious? Um… it’s your typical Golden Era musical. Singing, dancing, love, Nazis, nuns stealing distributor caps, and political refugees. Oh, and puppets! It has puppets!

  4. So, did you end up seeing this darker version of Sound of Music? How dark did they go? Was it just mood lighting or did they go way out there and, say, tell it from Rolf’s perspective (which would’ve been seriously creepy and cringeworthy).

  5. @Steve I did not, although as it turns out the whole “this is dark” thing was mostly the WaPo person trying to gin up some interest. I went to the theatre’s website and they didn’t have anything about darkness, it was all “family musical YAY!”

  6. hellothefuture: for serious I haven’t seen it. I do have a basic notion about the plot, I can’t imagine anyone growing up in North America not having that. But I’m pretty sure my idea of what it’s like is inaccurate. You see, I didn’t know about the puppets. Puppets, Nazis and the sexual awakening of a teenaged girl!? Please tell me there isn’t a song called “Show Me On the Doll.” 🙂
