Cursebrand – A Novel for Mad Art Lab

A little more than a year ago, I published my first novel, How Not to Poach a Unicorn. I decided that, in the spirit of showing off your ugly things, I should release my next novel, chapter-by-chapter on Mad Art Lab.

It took me a year to get enough written to be confident that A: I would like it enough to finish it and B: It wouldn’t completely suck. Also, I wrote a masters thesis in the middle which put a pretty serious damper on the progress.

Regardless, it has reached a state in which I believe I can start putting chapters up. In the coming weeks, every Thursday, I will release the next chapter of Cursebrand

Cursebrand is fantasy fiction, which may seem out of place on this sciency blog, and it may be, but my experiences in the skeptical and scientific community have influenced its creation. I hope that I can show that fantasy fiction can still have aspects of scientific and critical thinking, two things that are often lacking in the genre.

This post is here as an announcement, an explanation, and a promise. Also it is a placeholder to link back to and explain to anyone trying to jump in at the twenty-third chapter what they’re looking at.

The first chapter will go up next week. I hope you enjoy it.
