Art Inquisition: What do you want to know?

So much time, so little to do!

Being all versatile and multifaceted is hard, y0. I have too many interests and not enough time to pursue them and work and eat and sleep. And occasionally consider having a social life that involves more than falling asleep immediately after ordering from GrubHub. I’m falling behind, slacking, getting rusty. Which is extra dangerous given my interest in computer science and web design… if I don’t even have time to keep up with the stuff I already know I like doing, when do I learn new things?

I want to build rock gardens. Master the Creative Cloud. Knit. Paint watercolors. Cosplay. Play with my Arduino board. Fold origami. Learn Rails. Rearrange my furniture. Papercraft. Dress in clothes that aren’t of the “they’ll do for now” variety. Spin fire. Frame and hang more art. Fix up some WordPress sites.

I could go on. But I’m sure you guys will give me more ideas!

What do you think? What would you like to learn to do? Do you have a plan for it? Do you have TIME for it? In an ideal world, where you have your own island and all the free time in the world and an unlimited trust fund and no need to sleep unless you wanted to, what would you be doing right now?

The ART Inquisition (or AI) is a question posed to you, the Mad Art Lab community. It appears on Wednesdays at 3pm ET… Make with the comments!

Beth Voigt

Beth is a graphic designer in Chicago, a superhero in her own mind, and absolutely nothing on TV. She wrangles fonts professionally, pummels code amateurishly, and has been known to shove fire in her face for fun. Fond of volunteering, late-night bursts of productivity, and making snacks, she dislikes grocery shopping and sticky public transit and is only on her second smartphone. Her opinion is that you should try everything twice; if you don't like it, you were probably doing it wrong the first time around. If external links are your thing, here are links to Twitter and Instagram, and you can support her ongoing weirdness by buying her a coffee or six.
