An Oscars-Inspired Dinner

I didn’t watch the Oscars this past Sunday, but I couldn’t avoid catching some of the buzz via Facebook and my other social media channels. By far my favorite thing to show up in my feed on Oscars night were–unsurprisingly–food related!

My friend Laura Hepburn Engert planned a nine-course meal to help her celebrate the awards show, with one course inspired by each Best Picture nominee. Check out her photos of some of the courses below, which are colorful, clever, and most importantly, delicious-looking.

My favorite by far was the cheese and fruit course inspired by Gravity:

Sun - cheddar & clementine, Mercury - red grape & blue cheese, Venus - Havarti on wheat cracker, Earth - Kiwi & Blueberries, Mars - Pecan cracker with blue cheese & dried cranberries, Jupiter - Chipotle/cranberry cheddar on breton cracker, Saturn - Apple round with cheddar rings, Uranus - Blueberry goat cheese on cracker with apple rings, Neptune - Colby-jack cheese on apple round, Stars - star fruit
