AI: Geek Art Projects

It was my birthday last weekend and my wife got me the coolest thing ever! It’s a TARDIS cookie jar! When you open and close the lid, it makes that TARDIS-tastic sound and the light on top flashes. Also she filled it with peanut butter brownies and these weird Kinder chocolate hippo things. These food items are all gone now.

I love strange merchandising, like the TARDIS cookie jar or a lightsaber cheese knife (which, for some reason, doesn’t exist) and of course Astronom-O’s.

What other geeky, artsy or science-y merchandising would you like to make, see and/or buy? Van Gogh’s ear-shaped headphones, anyone?

The ART Inquisition (or AI) is a question posed to you, the Mad Art Lab community. Look for it to appear Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 3pm ET.

  1. I have to confess to recently looking up how to make cereal (it’s basically dough extruded through a shaped nozzle and baked at high temperature). I was thinking along the lines of using a 3D printer to make custom shaped nozzles, and making limited runs of cereal. So, basically a made-to-order cereal… FSM shapes, atoms… that sort of thing.

  2. I would like skeptic/atheist polo shirts. I don’t wear t-shirts in public (I feel underdressed). So I want to be able to show my support through buying things I would actually wear.

    I want a pharynglua polo shirt with a little octopus in the symbol area.

  3. @Steve: You are made of magic, aren’t you?

    @dpeabody: I can see that being a thing. Really subtle. Cool.

    @Matt: Good point 🙂
