Sketchbook pages and the Power of Friendship

So! The news has been pretty depressing lately, especially if you’re like me and can’t stay away from the all the political wonkery around this year’s election no matter how hard you try (ETA: and it’s only gotten worse since I wrote that last night). I’ve resorted to comfort drawing, and apparently what makes me happy is The Power of Friendship. It is a theme I hadn’t noticed that I was drawing over and over again until I started flipping through my sketchbook, but as you can see is something I keep returning to.

Also, I've been reading a lot of urban fantasy.

One of the really powerful things about art is its ability to lift people up, and even if it’s just a picture you’re scrolling past on Instagram that makes you smile or a calm evening spent doodling while watching TV I think there’s a lot of value in that.
