Reason Rally and American Atheists

As promised I will be writing a weekly column highlighting what work I am doing in my art studio. This week I am taking on the role of artist as promotional-activist and have donated my time to make some Surly-Ramics to help spread the word about two secular events that are on the horizon for this coming spring.

The two events I am highlighting are:

The Reason Rally
The Reason Rally is going to be AWESOME! It is a free event that will take place in Washington, D.C. on March 24th, 2012 from 10:00AM – 4:00PM at the National Mall. Scheduled guests include PZ Myers, Taslima Nasrin, Tim Minchin and the band, Bad Religion! This is potentially one of the coolest secular events I have heard of. You guys… TIM MINCHIN and BAD RELIGION! AWE. SOME.

More info on the Reason Rally can be found here.

And directly following that event is The American Atheists National Convention. That convention will take place directly after the rally on March 25-26, 2012, in Washington DC. I will have a table at the convention and while sadly it is not free, there is a great lineup of speakers and your entry fee goes to help fund a great secular organization. Speakers will include Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, Christina Rad, Greta Christina, Ayanna Watson and more!

More info on the American Atheists National Convention and a full list of speakers can be found here.

I will be donating a bunch of these necklaces to the American Atheists organization to give out either on a podcast or at an event to help spread the word. When I find out how they will be given away, I will update this post.

Hope to see you at BOTH events!

  1. We will be there, at both events. Very much looking forward to it. What a great way to kick off the con season of 2012.
