Mad Quickies

Mad Quickies: Ancient Lost Cities, NSFW Hump Day GIFs, Art Crimes and More!

Well hey there gang, your old pal Brian has got your mid-week Quickies all ready to go for you. There’s no time to lose because there’s hidden cities to be read about! Go!

Your weekly ART CRIMES.

As promised (by me), archaeologists have discovered medieval cities hidden by the jungle around the temple complex of Angkor Wat. They found them using LASERS!!!!!!!!

When I think of shell sculptures, I usually picture cheesy beach art that I saw at the Jersey shore as a kid. But sculptor Rowan Mersh uses shells to create these amazing wall sculptures that actually look like soft undulating mats of hair or fur. Stunning!

Makeup artist Saida Mickeviciuteis is truly gifted. Because sloth makeup.

The White House has issued its report on science initiatives begun under President Obama.

Okay, we get it, San Francisco. You’re gorgeous. Chris Messina shot this AMAZING photo of the city by the bay for the Summer Solstice.

It’s Hump Day (I know, I hate that term too). But artist Lorna Mills has created these NSFW Hump Day GIFs for our delectation. I love GIF art.
