Introductions and doodles

Why, hello Mad Art Lab world! It’s me, Jill!

You might remember me from blogging back at Skepchick, back in the day. But in 2010, I started another university program that was kind of demanding on my time, and eventually I had to bow out of the blogging world, which was sad. Now, I’m finished my program (yay!), looking for work in my field (ahaha, job hunting is depressing). I really wanted to be a part of Mad Art Lab, since the peeps here are pretty rad and incredibly creative and I like being around such people.

One thing you should know about me is that I draw, constantly. I doodle, I sketch, if there is a surface nearby that I can draw on (and won’t get arrested for doing so), I’ve already started drawing Commander Shepard and there’s nothing you can do to stop me. I draw a lot of fanart, because I have a mad passion for video games, comics, movies and TV shows that I enjoy and the best way for me to express my enjoyment of these things is through art. Lots and lots of art. I am also really big on illustrating bear safety (no seriously) and safety in general so there’s going to be some of that thrown into the mix too!

My weekly posts are going to have this kind of angle. I’m going to be posting fanart. It could be fanart of a well-known skeptic or scientist. It could be fanart of The Guild (who else is excited for the new upcoming season, you guys??). It could be a comic strip commenting on the big science/skeptic/world news of the week. The sky is the limit, if it’s geeky, skeptic-y, or science-y…I’m there. With my copic markers.

Doodles after the jump!

Maria and Spock…get to know each other.

Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!

“Feels like I’m wearing nothing at all!”

Be Bear Aware.
