Happy Birthday To Us!

Mad Art Lab is 7 years old! Yesterday was our birthday and birthdays are a time to gather and hang with your friends and family. There are plenty of Mad Art Alums and we want to celebrate with them and see where they are and what they’re up to.
We’ll be featuring profiles on our extended family throughout the next week, so keep checking back to see what all your old favs are up to!

First up, a MAL original. The one and only Maki Naro!

After a stint at Popular Science, Maki has been drawing science comics for The Nib, Knowable Magazine, and Genentech here, here and here.
So yeah, a busy lad.
Additionally you can check out his website where there is dope-ass Maki swag. Buy his things! Buy his books!

And then, there’s She of the Many Hats, Elizabeth Finn!
In her own words:
“I’m still doing science, still doing circus, and this past December I made a big step towards my dream of Dance your PhD by choreographing, recording, and performing live an interpretive dance explaining the 3D structure of DNA using the medium of aerial fabric. I also have a paper about DNA looping that is in revision at Cell.”

And true to her word, here is that performance:

Just… wow.
Here’s Elizabeth’s website, where you can find more of her amazingness.

Please stay tuned for some visits from your favorite Labbers of yore!
Happy birthday to us!
