Dakota Pipeline

I’m trying to keep a visual journal of things happening in America as we slip deeper into a racist and fascist takeover and I think few things speak as loudly as what has happened at the Dakota Access Pipeline site in North Dakota. Obama attempted to protect the native land on his way out but the moment Trump took office he instructed drilling of the sacred land to continue. It’s been a losing battle since and a horrifying and heartbreaking example of greed winning over justice and compassion. Trump and members of his cabinet have investments in the pipeline and money is obviously more important than people or history to those now in power. Last I heard, the campsites had turned to snow and mud and protestors finally had to leave as drilling and destruction of sacred, native land continues. Once again the USA has failed its people.
