AI

AI: All-Consumed Inellect

You may notice that this AI is late.  Despite my best intentions of sorting out a question early this morning, I ended up buried in books and equations and entirely forgot to both eat and write an AI.

What sucks you in? What consumes your attention so fully that you forget to eat and sleep? What has made you miss meetings, appointments, and meals?

The ART Inquisition (or AI) is a question posed to you, the Mad Art Lab community. Look for it to appear Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 3pm ET.

Everything! I don’t know what it is but I can never stay focused on one thing, but whatever I am focused on I do it obsessively. For example! In the last year in addition to my day job as a chemical engineer I have.
    Learnt Toxicology,
    Focused on painting,
    Re-learnt physics,
    Learnt quantum physics,
Tried to grasp the standard model,
    Become obsessed with reading,
Re-learning Organic chemistry + Taking my knowledge further.

Now when I say Learnt “Insert here” I don’t mean I have mastered it. What I mean is that I have become obsessed and spent 2 weeks or so, reading textbooks and making notes. I don’t do this to the detriment of anything else… Except going to bed late. I still make dinner for my Gf & I every night, go on walks and go to work. However I am starting to wonder if I have some mild disorder. lol
