  4. That test tube chandelier is gorgeous, and if I knew how to do the electronics stuff, I would make the gauntlet so badass!

  5. Probably not anytime soon. We’re going for a 1930s/40s vibe, including recipes, and freeze-dried ice cream is a few decades beyond that. However, our ice cream guy is a total science nerd, and we’re doing a couple avant-garde things at the soda fountain, so who knows?

  6. @Madfishmonger – I sat in on an e-textile demo Dia did at Dragon*Con last year. Pretty cool. Entire electronics projects without a single solder joint – which tends to be the biggest barrier for most people getting into electronics. I think SparkFun has a couple e-textile starter kits. Might be worth looking at.

  7. @Madfishmonger – Steve is totally right. This stuff is REALLY entry-level, and the tutorial goes really slowly, step by step. I really tried to lay everything out so that someone who didn’t know ANYTHING about electronics would be able to follow the steps and make the bracer. If you don’t feel up to starting there, we do have a couple of cool kits (search for e-sewing or techstyles on sparkfun.com), but really, if you run into a step on the bracer tutorial that you DON’T feel like you understand or can follow along with, you should just email me at Dia [at] sparkfun [dot] com, and I’ll explain the missing link to you AND update the tutorial for everyone else! <3
